Drawing a lot of his inspiration from old school sounds originating in places like Chicago, NYC and Detroit, Ric Mc Clelland has been hard at work in his native Belfast studio, releasing a steady string of EPs on some of House music’s hottest labels like Urban Torque, Large Music and NRK. The quality of his tracks placed him in 2008?s Beatport Top 10 for the ‘Best Deep House Artist’ alongside some serious heavyweights like Dennis Ferrer & Jimpster. His recent EPs on Large Music and BEEF Records continue to blaze the charts and get phenomenal reviews! Scope now delivers his debut EP for Frankfurt’s BCBtec. ‘Talkin About Paradise’ is a heady collection of very functional DJ cuts that should appeal to a wide range of jocks! ‘Talkin About’ is a phat & chunky slice of hybrid House. Mixing chopped up vocals courtesy of NYC’s Mr. V with a rolling dubbed out disco sample, whilst dropping down into some synthy Detroitesque string action. On the flip, ‘Paradise’ is a pumping deep House rollercoaster. Coming in at a groovy 122bpm, it’s a proper old skool House jam, complimented by a beautiful cinematic style sample. End of night bliss!
