In Swedish folklore, the mare is a mysterious figure that sits on our chest while we sleep, forcing us to relive the injustices of the day in complete darkness. The mare dwells in the borderlands between reality and fantasy, between daydream and nightmare, where anything can happen and nothing is certain.

In the spirit of the mare, Orkan presents their third full-length album, Vakendrömmar (Dreams You Dream While You’re Awake). Within a psychedelic maelstrom, classic 70s riffs and intense instrumental passages collide with honesty, wonder, and righteous anger.

On Vakendrömmar, Orkan takes their sound to new heights while remaining deeply rooted in their unique musical heritage. As always, the lyrics take center stage, addressing themes close to the band’s heart. Guided by the presence of the mare, they invite the listener to confront their own dreams, visions, and fears.
