Reissue of the mixtape fan-favorite Pop 2 on 140 g. black vinyl.

When Pop 2 was released in December 2017, the mixtape was quickly hailed as a futuristic masterpiece and one of the decade's most groundbreaking pop releases. Executive producer A.G. Cook was once again by Charli XCX's side, and together they pushed autotune, pitch manipulation, and synth production to the extreme. With an ambitious team of guest artists from all over the world, Pop 2 created a boundless and almost utopian vision of what pop music could sound like – and predicted several musical trends that only became part of the mainstream years later.

Pop 2 was met with almost unanimous enthusiasm from critics, who highlighted the mixtape's groundbreaking sound design, emotional depth, and inventive songwriting. On tracks like "Unlock It", "Backseat", "Tears", and "Track 10", prominent autotune and heavily processed synthesizers are used to convey intense feelings of euphoria, heartbreak, and nostalgia. The closing track "Track 10" in particular is often highlighted as one of the 2010s' very best pop compositions.

Pop 2 also served as a creative hub for the global queer and avant-pop underground, with contributions from artists including Carly Rae Jepsen, Caroline Polachek, Tove Lo, Pabllo Vittar, Brooke Candy, Dorian Electra, Mykki Blanco, Alma, Tommy Cash, and Jay Park. The mixtape cemented Charli XCX's position as one of avant-pop's most influential artists and became a cultural landmark that significantly impacted the development of electronic pop, experimental pop, and hyperpop throughout the 2020s.
