Nothing else goes through the soundmachine as something cutted, removed, stuttering - fragments. The pieces themselves will be fragments again through the repeated manipulation of the cuts, scratches and skips. The crackling of the breaks, the whirring of particles and fragments, the tinkling of shattered pieces and clicks'n cuts is being audible through fine veined rhythmic structures. Weiss. Rephlex settles between abstraction and the fragile, between loop and minimization, between melody and defiance and doesn't want more than to reconcile with it's here made audible breaks that mirror their own emergence: as a process of constant regression. Slicing soundfiles and CD-skipping are the most preferred technics of weiss, aka martin weiss, an electronic music project based in nuremberg/Germany.
