"By Request" In an era where anyone, it seems, can call himself a vocalist by yelling or whining into a mic, it is refreshing to hear the real thing: Andy Anderson's debut CD "By Request" reveals his honey amber baritone voice to the world and suggests a voice from a bygone era, when nuance and tone were always paramount. Stylistically, Anderson covers a swath between Mel Tormé's big band sound, Nat King Cole's ballads, and Luther Vandross' contemporary soulful R&B with always a hint of Broadway. Always delicious, always romantic, always hip, Andy can leave you in a bit of a swoon. Anderson is accompanied by his longtime musical cohorts Nathan Fry and Ron Councell on keyboards and vocal harmonies and additionally has guest appearances by Don LeMaster on piano and backup vocals and myself on guitar and percussion. Most tracks were cut live, preserving the energy of the original take. It was my great pleasure to be a part of this remarkable musical excursion.
