Darkest Hour Livesay

LIVESAY is a melodic progressive metal band from New York that was formed in 1991 by lead guitarist Gregg Livesay. The band has two full length discs available, and are presently working on a third. The lineup for Darkest Hour: Gregg Livesay: Guitars Anthony Cross: Vocals Alan D'Angelo: Bass Keith Michaels: Drums Anthony Stahl: Keyboards The lineup has seen some changes in the years since Darkest Hour was released. For 'Awaken the Giant', Livesay is enlisting the help of a tremendous vocal talent in Dean Sternberg (Within Another, Into Eternity, Toby Knapp) Dean brings a powerful edge to the melodies and harmonies not seen on other Livesay releases. In Tim Hunter (drums), the band has found a rock solid time keeper, and his double bass skills complement the heavier direction that Livesay is taking. Rounding out the rhythm section is Alan D'Angelo, whose 5-string bass gives the songs their drive. He is also the band's lyricist, and as you will see, the lyrics have taken a quantum leap forward. Gregg Livesay (guitar) and Anthony Stahl (keyboards) the band's main songwriters, remain from the eponymous first CD Presently mixing, Livesay will be releasing it's third album, 'Awaken The Giant' sometime in 2009.
