The Hunter Brothers, Michael, Melvin, Jerry, and George are the result of obedience to the Word of God, 'Be fruitful and multiply.' Born in New Orleans, Louisiana of the union of the late Rev. Junior and the late Mrs. Mildred Hunter, the Hunter Brothers are four of eleven children, and have been singing for over forty years in the church setting, giving praise to Almighty God. Under the tuterlege of Mrs. Hunter, who was the Minister of Music of our church, and following the direction of Rev. Hunter, who was the Pastor of our church, we received our spiritual nuturing and growth by always being in church whenever the door opened. Michael, being the eldest, was the first of the brothers to become a musician, playing at the local churches at the age of seventeen. Michael is an ordained minister, producer and engineer of this CD, a song writer, organist, pianist, and choir director. Melvin, the next oldest of the boys, is also a minister of the gospel and plays piano and organ/keyboards and serves as a church musician. He has played for churches as far away as California and has several musical compositions to his credit. Jerry, the next in line, was the first to accept his calling to the gospel ministry and was the first to be ordained. He is an astute minister and bible teacher who can really expound the Word of God. George, the youngest of the four, is quite the accomplished singer. He has sung with groups as far as Europe. I thank God for having given me the vision and having provided the means and allowed us to complete this, our first CD project. This project and title came about after several deaths in our family. Our father who was a great preacher and singer died and then our uncle, Ivory, and our brother David, both of whom had angelic, majestic voices. You will hear all three of their voices on this CD on the songs, 'Oh Mary Don't You Weep,' and 'May The Work I've Done,' both of which are traditional songs of the church. These two songs were originally recorded during an appreciation service for our mother. All songs except Mary Don't You Weep and May The Work I've Done are original compositions of Michael E. Hunter, who is the founder and CEO of Nothing But The Gospel Sound Recording the company that recorded this project.
