Plain & Sinful Man

I have drawn from the scripture as well as the experiences of my own life in writing the songs for this Album. For example, 'In the Beginning' is based on and quotes from the 1st chapter of John, and explains in music that Jesus was in heaven with God from the beginning of time and that He came to earth to offer Himself as a sacrifice for our sins with full knowledge of what He would face on the cross. On the other hand, 'Plain and Sinful Man' was written as an acknowledgment to God that I am not worthy of His love, and how short I fall of His Holiness. It is a reflective song that asks the question 'How can a God, as Holy as You, love a plain and sinful man?' As a songwriter, I wrote these songs to touch the mind. As a pastor, I pray these songs will touch the heart. Don Scott.
