The Impressionists With Tim Marlow V/A

Documentary exploring one of the most important and intriguing movements in art history: Impressionism. Like the ripples in a Monet painting, the influence of The Impressionists continues to be felt today. Manet, Renoir, Degas, Toulouse-Lautrec, Cezanne, Gauguin and Van Gogh were essentially the bad boys of Western painting, adopting a radical new approach that flew in the face of convention. In doing so, they have created some of the most beautiful and enduring paintings of all time. Hosted by Tim Marlow, this 8-part series looks at this aesthetic revolution in context of the late 19th Century.
