When Franklin Blake (Joshua Silver) returns to England for his father's funeral, he finds himself investigating the theft of the priceless Indian diamond known as the Moonstone, which was stolen a year before on his cousin Rachel (Terenia Edwards)'s 18th birthday. Despite being in love with one another, Rachel disowned Franklin after the robbery and vowed not to rekindle their relationship until he discovers exactly what happened that fateful night.
