How many of us really know what it would be like to illegally smuggle oneself across the United States border? How would you go about planning the trip, hiring a coyote (people smuggler), and evading the authorities and violent gangs on the way? Crossings contains the secret accounts of twelve people who share their experiences. Their harrowing tales, fraught with danger, give insight into why people take such risks and make you wonder if you would do the same in their situation.
The author has pledged to donate a portion of the profits from this book to charities including the Catholic Charities of LA. Inc (Immigration Services) and Long Island Immigrant Student Advocates.
