Collage is an artistic rendering of short stories that open a window into the mind of a writer and the sources of inspiration drawn from everyday life. Some are based on actual experiences, such as hitchhiking in Europe, and the death of a pet. There is an encounter at a meat counter that turns into something far graver. Old friends learn that gambling on horses can be more difficult than they thought and a child discovers how connected life can be by the accidents that happen in his own backyard. The idea that true art is born of pain and being human can sometimes produce a serendipitous chain of events rings through if we only have eyes to see, and ears to hear, the world around us. Being human is clearly a life long endeavor.
