Eudaimonia

Eudaimonia is very different from Maya's familiar London. Here, knights and samurais have coexisted in peace for millennia. Now the stubborn fifteen year old has to put her fate in the hands of North, a skilled hunter. As they travel the land of Altador Maya develops peculiar powers and a strange connection to the world. On the journey they face the Anthrolites, defy a powerful sorcerer, unearth the Erudit, save an Empress from certain death and uncover Eudaimonia's forgotten legends which may hold the key to their future. "After the euphoria and excitement about the adventure ahead, they fell quiet for a long time. Without realising it, they were communing with nature. It brought Maya back to the sense of oneness she had experienced the night before, she felt disconnected from herself, and she was whole, a single entity with her surroundings. When the feeling left her, her brothers were nowhere to be seen. She called their names, she ran towards the highest point. How long had she walked, how far had she gone? She looked for the yellow marks on the trees, but she couldn't see any. She took her phone out, no network. It wasn't the time to panic, not just yet, that wasn't her style she thought. She decided to walk back. It must be that way she told herself. After half an hour of walking, she still couldn't recognise anything and to make it worse the clouds had turned dark and heavy and the air became very humid. One raindrop and then another, lightning appeared on the horizon, followed shortly by a resounding thunderclap. She froze. It wasn't supposed to rain, we checked this morning, she thought. There was more lightning and a terrifying clap of thunder, almost like an explosion. That was enough to make her panic and she started running. She ran as fast as she could. She fell, the rain was torrential now, and the ground was very slippery. As she tried to climb down the small hill she lost total control and slipped down it. She landed at the bottom and immediately stood up. Luckily she only had a few bruises. She looked up and saw the entrance of a cave. Her gut feeling reappeared very strongly, she must be hungry she guessed. Then she felt fuzzy, overwhelmed, she couldn't think straight. She must have hit her head she assumed. She entered the cave and walked for a few minutes with no sense of purpose, she just walked. Her whole body was overpowered by this inexplicably strange feeling, a sudden white curtain in front of her eyes troubled her vision and she collapsed."
