Katherine has a Bachelor of Arts, a Bachelor of Social Work and a Masters of Education, where she concentrated her studies on mental health curriculum in schools. After working with children in various capacities, it became evident to Katherine that mental health education was so helpful for ALL children. After discovering research that reports strong connections between emotional intelligence (EQ) and positive outcomes later in life, Katherine's focus became on putting mental health information at the fingertips of all people who interact with children. That's why she created EQ Kids, as a space to share knowledge, ideas, and resources all centered around fostering children's emotional intelligence. As a part of EQ Kids' mission, she authored ABC Emotions, a fun and educational book teaching children about their emotions. The need for mental health education for children has never been higher!
