The Practical Shaman - Evolution and Karma

Darwin's proposition that all species of life have descended over time from common ancestors is now widely accepted, and considered a foundational concept in science. He describes how all living things evolve in the face of survival pressures and opportunities by adapting and changing. Since Darwin's original published work, "On the Origin of Species" in 1859, many advances have been made. Archaeology with its extended view of this planet's fossil evidence shows how over long periods of time animals and plants change. Darwin's finches who live on different islands in the Galapagos have evolved different beak shapes and strategies for feeding according to the island where they live. After physical death a soul moves through different Bardo states, the soul's Karma determines how the soul will be reincarnated. The process of helping the soul through the different states may be aided by a Shaman. In this book we look at evolution and how it affects physical form, and, how Karma resulting from life experience affects the soul and its reincarnation. Both are intimately linked, and both take time, a lot of time, things do not happen overnight. The soul is reborn into a physical body, a container for it while it harvests lessons and karma from a lifetime of existence. Both the physical container and the soul are increasingly subject to human intervention which we will look at.
