Watching Storms from a Distance
Michael R Promes
Watching Storms from a Distance is a thought-provoking and absorbing collection of 34 poems, all written from an optimist's point of view and seeing the best in every situation. Best described as a combination of American Midwest, science and philosophy, it captures the essence of a journey through life and its treasured snapshots. From the inspiring Afterglow and the hope and miracle birth of our universe, to the painful lines of Vicky and the heartbreak of loss, Michael R Promes weaves deft lines of verse that will suit any mood, but always carry a sense that hope is never far away. Delve in and out as you please and whenever the mood takes you. There are poems which take mere seconds to read and others that are longer and offer everything from spiritual insights to entertaining distractions. Watching Storms from a Distance is a remarkably hewn assortment of poetry which will make you reflect on life and leave you insisting on more.
