ABOUT THE BOOK This is the sad story of an African chief who maltreats the poor with his wealth. One would have thought that having experienced poverty himself, he would learn to treat needy folks with respect if not love but the reverse is the case. He was once a taxi driver who instead of returning the American dollars forgotten in his taxi cab to the rightful owner, he steals it and with time, takes the highest title in the land. His title and wealth combine to place him seemingly above the laws of the land. He likes to speak long grammar and develop a sense of fake importance. In the end he takes a poor man's wife by force and uses the only goat of a widow for pepper soup. How did the last act lead to his disgraceful, sudden and painful death? This is a simple story that touches the heart.
