"Indians of the U. S.from A to Z" is a concise overview of the indigenous people (Native Americans) who have lived in what are now the forty-eight contiguous states of the USA. This volume briefly covers the most important people, tribes, and events -- from colonial times (Pocahontas, Samoset, Squanto, et al) through the tumultuous times of warfare, removals, and treaties (Tecumseh, Red Cloud, Sitting Bull, Crazy Horse, Geronimo, Chief Joseph, etc.) and beyond. A spotlight is focused on personalities, intrigues, battles, massacres, treaties, laws, and their consequences. More than that, though, "Indians of the U.
