Q & A with Day Leclaire:

These books tend to be a bit wackier than your normal romances. What gives?
They definitely are, though they still feature the warmth and passion that are hallmarks of all my books. I guess I wrote these at a time in my life when I needed to laugh. Sometimes the darkest moments in life are the ones that cry out the hardest for a bit of wacky to counterbalance the tears.

Can you tell us one interesting detail about this particular book?
I once saw a ghost. No, seriously. I was visiting my parents with my 3-year-old and they were renting an ancient home, made of shipwreck timbers. One night I glanced over at the bed across from me where my son was sleeping and saw a shape walking into the room. I called his name, thinking he'd gotten up to use the bathroom, and as he sat up in bed, the apparition moved along behind him and through a nearby door. Freaked. Me. Out!
