The John Muir Way crosses Scotland from Helensburgh on the Clyde to Dunbar on the Forth. This bundle consists of both the Rucksack Readers guidebook (9781898481591) and the official map (9781898481607), bundled together at reduced price. The route is 134 miles/215 km and is described by guidebook authors Bardwell and Megarry in 5 sections for cyclists, 10 for walkers. They give details of the route with refreshment stops, side-trips and places of interest. There is concise background on John Muir's life, the canal heritage and wildlife and over 90 colour photographs, all on rainproof paper. The sheet map is at scale 1:75,000 and was commissioned by Scottish Natural Heritage. It is arranged in 5 handy panels and folds down to 215x140 mm, printed on rainproof paper.
