In An Oubliette is a lyrical, evocative meditation on the awful consequences of war. It is told in poems which sometimes describe real battlefields, sometimes those of the heart. A story of many strands with voices from the Crusades, the Napoleonic Wars, the Second World War, and other conflicts. Narrated by a cast of characters from across the ages, some major figures from history, others part of the common mass of humanity.
