"That Friday night we made arrangements to be alone. We went to the party store down the street and she picked out her favorite whiskey. Several hours would pass before the bottle ran empty. She slowly led me up the stairs to the bedroom where I would feel no ill effects from the alcohol. We were up until dawn when we finally got exhausted enough to fall asleep in a pool of our own sweat. She was amazing in every way. I couldn't stop smiling for weeks. It was too perfect. She had a son of her own with another friend from that same restaurant. They would have sleepovers at least once a week. She was looking for a place of her own at the time, so after only a month I gave her a key and told her she could move in at any time. I didn't realize it at the time, but subconsciously I must have been all too eager to replace everything that was missing from my life. She must have sensed something was wrong with me, so after only two months she would walk out of my life again."
