"IGNITED" is a compilation of many extremely interesting stories, told by people of diverse religious, ethnic and racial backgrounds. They patronized the Judaica Gift shop that was owned by Pauline Sonboleh and her husband, Sol. They came to purchase either personal religious objects, books on Judaism, gifts for celebrating Jewish occasions, or just out of sheer curiosity to see what can be found in a Jewish Gift Shop. While making their purchases, the customer invariably initiated the topic of religion and how it had impacted their life. Ignited is to set on fire- either the body or the soul. An ignited soul seeks GOD, hoping to find the meaning of life. Marrano and Converso customers, related stories on how their lives were impacted by the Spanish Inquisition. They were the descendants of relatives who were forced to convert, or were expelled or perished by burning at the stake. Practicing a religion that one was not born into, causes great personal and family conflict. Ignited, also conjures up stories told by survivors, whose family members were burned alive in the Holocaust, only because they were Jewish. Halfway through the writing of this book, a serious debilitating illness prevented its completion. The book was put on hold for an indefinite period of time. By a stroke of luck or by Divine intervention,"IGNITED," the book that almost wasn't, is now the book that is. Many people who have heard "snippets" of the stories are anxiously looking forward to purchasing the book. Once you start reading, it is difficult to put down.
