Scott Logan, better known as Second Hand Scott, specialises in picking up girls who have just been dumped, jilted or otherwise broken-hearted. But he isn't your stereotypical romantic cad and bounder; swooping in to take advantage of vulnerable girls - whether they be a saucy old aged pensioner or a middle aged divorcee with an irritating personality. No; he actually thinks he's being helpful.
But when Scott meets a nice girl, a girl who seems to like him for who he is rather than what he can provide, Scott is forced to confront his attitude, his past, his parents and the spectre of Sally Paxton; his first girlfriend - now deceased.
Scott needs to decide whether he will forever be Second Hand Scott or whether he might, for once in his life, follow his heart.
