It has always been Charlotte and James against the world. But what are they supposed to do when the world is always working against them?Charlotte Murphy and James Ramsey have been best friends since the first day of kindergarten. They take on everything in life together, dancing around their budding feelings along the way, playing tag but never quite getting there. After moving from their home in Massachusetts across the country to Los Angeles, James has finally settled into a relationship and a stable place in life, leaving Charlotte to wonder where she truly belongs. Charlotte grapples with her purpose in life, trying to balance being a kindergarten teacher during the school year who spends her summers in an office to pay the bills, with being an adult in the real world. When her office job finds her in the writer's room of a television show on her summer vacation, she takes hold of her newly found independence and starts to make changes, penning the children's book that she's always wanted to write, and forming new relationships along the way. Her newly found independence sparks a fire in James that has old feelings coming head to head with all of the new in both of their lives: significant others, jobs, and the potential to see what life would really be like if they finally spoke their truths. Are the best things in life really too good to be true?
