An author who has lost his will to write, an old photograph, and a decision to follow his gut. These three things combine to send Justin Lane up the mountain for a story. The old photograph in the city library showed a man with purpose, a man with drive, and a joy lit up his face with a radiance that beamed through the old black and white even now. Lost and adrift in a life he always thought he'd wanted, Justin found himself looking to return to that place of contentment. What he found instead was a family that challenged everything. They challenged his beliefs, in life, in love, in everything. Then, Macy arrived and turned everything upside down with a simple question. What did he want? Justin found himself unable to answer the simple inquiry, and it became Macy's quest to help him find the answer. In order to learn what he wanted, Justin would have to learn who he truly is. Macy offered him the adventure of a lifetime, the chance to become someone else, the chance to experience life as she lived it. But, that can only happen if he is strong enough to become the man he would need to be. All Macy has ever known is life on the mountain, a hard life, but a happy life, a life she wants to continue. Running wild on the mountain, training horses every summer, this is the life that Macy knows and understands. Justin's arrival throws a wrench in her normal routine, but is that necessarily a bad thing? There is so much that she can teach him, if he is willing to learn. Can Macy help Justin not only overcome his writer's block, but also overcome is disbelief in God? Macy's family has always followed God's path, Justin has never known God, and he struggles to believe that there is something greater beyond humanity. These two people, completely different, growing up in opposite worlds, will they find a common ground or are they doomed for failure. He's the city boy, she's the country girl, and God put them together for a reason.
