When Damilola a nurse from Nigeria is given a bag of conflict diamonds in Ebola cursed, Sierra Leone, she has no way of realising their value. Contact with her uncle, a Chief in the oil rich region of south eastern Nigeria, ensure the diamonds reach his corrupt hands safely. The Chief realises he needs a partner, and invites a dangerous, shady compatriot, Chief Kudo to join the party. Oscar and Mac, two British ex pats working in that part of Nigeria discover the Chief has a veteran Dakar Rally Car and buy the vehicle intending to fix it up and ship it to Europe. The two Chiefs see this as a safe way to smuggle their diamonds to a corrupt diamond cutter on the Continent. It is only after the diamonds are hidden in the Rally Car, they find out too late to retrieve the contraband that Oscar and Mac are going to drive the car back to where it started the rally in Paris. This causes the Chiefs to send their own representatives to follow the diamonds and ensure their safe arrival in Europe, where it will be easier to regain the stones. Damilola is partnered by a disgraced army officer Kinikanwo who is an inveterate ladies man and they compete for the love of the Chief's eldest daughter. The journey through Nigeria and across the Sahara, via Niger and Algeria is fraught with many dangers, this affects both parties. Sandstorms, terrorists, the Nigerian Air Force, economic migrants, death and the mighty Sahara Desert all threaten to intervene in their progress. For the diamonds all roads lead to an explosive finish in the French Capital.
