How those simple words "You'll never do anything good in life" and "Your son will end up a millionaire or in jail" uttered by loved ones deeply impacted the author's life, tossing him from unexpected successes to unavoidable, even expected failures; this, through politic scandals he had been tossed in as well as administrative stupidities of the various institutions he worked with despite the clumsy efforts he unsuccessfully made to prove to himself that he might not be so bad after all; and how at near 70 he finally broke the curse and found peace and happiness.
