The election in the United States in November 2020 will be very important. It should be about ideas to address the many issues facing the electorate. It must not be about personalities or political parties. This book seeks to stimulate readers to think about the issues facing the electorate encouraging them to develop their own ideas to add to the debates. Included among the ideas presented is a suggestion to present a complete slate of cabinet secretaries and executive officers in addition to nominees for President and Vice President. A nation split over ways to improve firearm safety needs to find creative ways to do so. Ideas for discussion on this topic are presented. The readers will also find ideas on providing healthcare, reforming prisons, reducing income disparity, mitigating the effects of global warming, making the United Nations more effective for world peace, reducing the national debt, and improving the internet. A suggestion is also presented by which Congress might become more efficient by taking advantage of advancements made in the electronic age. Finally, the author, as a scientist, was intrigued by recent attempts by politicians to use hypotheses. They made several errors. The book concludes with an illustration of how a scientist might apply hypotheses to politics being careful to follow the rules. The author hopes that readers will go beyond the ideas presented in this book and develop and refine their own suggestions. The entire nation will be better served by a constructive discussion of ideas leaving out the mean and misleading words that seem to dominate today.
