This story captures my embrace with disability. I suffered a stroke on the left side of my body and being left-handed, it meant that I had to learn to use my right hand almost overnight to keep my job as a Visual Arts teacher. I am the sole provider for my household, my mother (now deceased) and my severely autistic son.
