One of challenges of understanding the Bible is that the words used in the Bible often mean something quite different from what we mean by the words. Take for example, the Hebrew word Shalom. Shalom is generally translated, "Peace." But, it means far more than what we normally mean by peace. It is more than the absence of conflict. It means that life is as it should be.
