1855 - Oregon Territory - Growth and progress define the times in Oregon City as Cassie Bennett enjoys life as a homestead wife and reporter for The Oregon Spectator Newspaper, where her father is Editor. Winds of change waft through her circle of friends and family, bringing more joy than sorrow; but simultaneously, a dark shadow troubles her. Conflicts between the white community and the Northwest Indian tribes have escalated until a veritable clash of civilizations threatens peace and the welfare of the Native peoples. Cassie's friendship with a young Cayuse woman, White Fawn, makes this a deep personal concern, and such an important one that Fawn is invited to relate her own story and that of her tribe in Book 3 of the Book Series: "Beyond Measure." The latest adventures of Cassie and her family are woven into the timeline of this ongoing saga of friendship, faith and hope.
