Behold the Megalith: A vast city carved into the glassy black rock of a planetary remnant, floating through a burning sea. It is a dense hive of riches and poverty; of civilisation and savagery crammed together in a recycled atmosphere. The Earth may be gone, but city life never changes: In the darkened bowels of the city, a pickpocket joins a wanted band of salvagers and thieves in their quest for an ancient treasure, while high above, among the gleaming sun-drenched Upper Streets, a young woman investigates the outbreak of a deadly disease, whose origins may yet lead them all in the same direction... outwards, to sea, towards the Rim..
