Little children develop most of their personalities before the age of five. Observe a kindergarten class and you will see, as I did. that these little ones are already "bent" in one direction or another. Some children are shy, frightened and mistrusting. Some are wild and uncontrollable. Some are mean and angry. Some are thoughtful, kind and helpful. All one needs to do is visit the homes of these different children to understand the sources of their behaviors. Some homes are neglectful, some are abusive, some are cold and some are warm and encouraging.
