Some people are runners. Some people are mathematicians. Some people are artists. Ginny Kinsey is a kayaker. She?s 17, and it?s summertime, and like every summer, she?s spending every possible moment on the water. If she made all the decisions, she?d live by the river. But her parents have other ideas, and when they try to ban her from paddling, she jumps in her car and heads for the Ottawa River. There she meets Grant and Jordan, two kayakers on a cross-country road trip, and when they offer to take her with them she agrees without hesitation. On the road, she encounters much, much more than just whitewater and gas stations. She experiences moments of excitement, love, and terror, and realizes that kayaking, like life, is a lot more complicated than it seems.
