From Go-bay to Mer-ka: a Life That I Would Live Again

Go-Bay, a district in North Eastern St Catherine on the Island of Jamaica where there was only one way in and one way out! In his book Owen brings his reader into the heart of the district and the island of Jamaica as he unfolds historic events unique to that island only. Learn how Owen eyes were open to the United States of America (Mer-Ka) and the turn of events that took place in his life.

Hutchison, known as the "Mad Master of Edinburgh Castle", born in Scotland 1733 and studied medicine came to Jamaica in the 1760s to an estate known as Edinburgh Castle.

Jamaican soldiers were involved in the First World War on November 8, 1915. It was then that Brigadier General Black Den sent off the fi rst Jamaican contingent to serve in the First World War. Brigadier General Black Den stated, "Some of you may be killed, many will be wounded, but in bidding you farewell I hope that those who fall may fall gloriously with their faces to the foe and victory gleaming on their bayonets."
