When Janet and her best friend, Sally, were invited to a posh party in an exclusive neighborhood, both could hardly wait to mingle with the rich and famous. But little did they know that they would both end up separated and a few hundred miles away by morning and for entirely different reasons! Sally's sudden disappearance from the party while dancing with a charming young man, and Janet's desperate search for her friend at the mansion erupted into panic as she chanced to witness her friend being whisked away in a dark blue sedan. Determined to rescue Sally at all costs, Janet pursued the fleeing car well into the night before finding herself hopelessly lost and spending a chilly night alone in her car. She awakes the next morning on the outskirts of a small, out-of-the-way town startled at the sight of a towering snow-capped mountain range glistening in the brisk, early morning sunlight, bordering a seemingly desolate high desert landscape. As Janet frantically tries to determine where she is, where her best friend has been taken, and how she is going to rescue her, she soon discovers she is being followed and attempts to shake her adversary by speeding away from the small town on the only available road. Although able to avoid her pursuers for a while, Janet finds herself having to put her trust in a mysterious mountainman with a penchant for hiding in high mountain caves. Then add to this mix, a dog named Shadow, a sheriff gone bad, and three unlikely heroes, and you have a recipe for excitement in this suspenseful quest complete with a few twists, turns and a surprising ending.
