This book is very simply --a book of Art. Rather than present my work with a chisel and stone, paints and a canvas. I have chosen makeup and the human face. Since Prehistoric times our Art has tried to capture the events in the march of man through history. From chalk drawings on cave walls to modern graffiti artists whose medium is a can of spray paint, Art almost always gives us a glimpse of temporal, sometimes controversial, sometimes conventional. While cave paintings sculptures and Fine Art tries to approach an everlasting state, my Art, on the other hand, is extremely ephemeral. Once it is wiped off it is gone; unless it's captured on film. So I have tried to preserve in the photography of this book: Through transformation and the drama of make up, the genre: glamour and horror. I done with mind and hands of an Artist. An Artist's Art that has been constant change, never the same, and always gone forever. Through the modern marvel and the World always seeking perfection is what seems to be on magazine covers and other publications. People are retouched to make them perfect looking. It seems as if the Art of make up is dying. Photoshop has taken it's place. Smudging and wiping away with programs from the computer. So unlike many publications. I have decided to not smudge away these images away. What you see in this book is raw and non touched. The only touch has been with make up, I as the Artist have manually and lovingly done to create TRANSFORMATIONS. I hope you enjoy my work of Art and the power of what make up can do.
