A decades old mystery, one of the most feared men in the world and a secretive, self-serving 'patriot' all converge on a sleepy, blue-collar town just north of Boston where three life-long friends become entangled in a web of intrigue, danger and dark sinister forces. What secrets lay hidden behind your neighbor's closed curtains? Who do they protect? In an ever-changing world, three friends; a humbled local newsman, his sometimes private investigator friend and the woman who keeps both men from self-destruction, embark on a journey which will ultimately lead them to the solution of one of the twentieth century's most notorious crimes, challenging all they thought they knew about the lengths to which men will go to hold power and the perverted view some men have of 'patriotism'.
