Captive without Care tells the true story of three chimps that needed help. Whilst embarking on voluntary work the author tells of how he came to meet the chimps and how he became entwined in their problems and those of other animals he met along with them. The story details the struggles faced with in trying to gain help for the chimps and the others whilst at the same time trying to safeguard against the treatment they were receiving. The inevitable ending comes all too soon, when the author is forced to say goodbye to the chimps he has grown so fond of in order to try and help them. Told around special moments shared with the chimps, with many photographs, this story gives a rare insight into their lives which will pull you in, make you smile, shed a tear but above all, hopefully make you care.
