With a dangerous man and his bumbling sidekick in close pursuit of their Hopi Indian driver, artist Gille Barker and an elusive Albert Einstein careen in and out of spacetime as they race through deserts and bayous from Winslow, Arizona to the French Quarter of New Orleans in search of a satchel's mysterious contents and the secret to life's design. In 1993, after three years in Arizona's Winslow Prison, Maui artist, Gille Barker is again a free man. Jeff Lightfoot, the Hopi Indian driver of Winslow's only taxi, takes him to Winslow's La Posada Hotel that has named its newly renovated rooms after famous guests of the hotel's storied past. Assigned the Einstein room, Gille's plan is to stay at the Posada for the week it will take to clear his return to Maui. Gille awakes in the middle of that first night to find Albert Einstein sitting in a lounge chair at the foot of his bed. A veteran time-traveler, Gille has entertained many late night visitors before, including an alien named Zargon Ron from a galaxy far away- seeing the great, but dead, theorist sitting there, alive and looking well, though surprising, is not alarming to him. Gille and Einstein talk. They discover a shared secret. They become friends. Is Gille delusional? Has his stay in Winslow Prison sent him over the edge? Even Gille isn't sure. Other events of the evening bring question to Gille's reliability and lead to his mad dash through spacetime to New Orleans with his Hopi Indian driver and new friend, Albert Einstein. 86000words - digital and 6"x 9" paperback format
