Small words - 'for', 'but', 'if', 'yet', 'since', 'then', for example - carry huge weight. As Donald G. Barnhouse said: 'In studying the word of God, we must never underestimate the importance of little words'. And the same goes for the use of little words when we are discussing and engaging in preaching and church practice.
