A Man, a Woman and a Dream: Romance in a Time of Turmoil

fighting to survive the unbridled wildness of a construction town that sprang up during creation of the 8th Wonder of the Worldastern Washington State's Grand Coulee Dam. Each day was a mortal battle with the concrete and steel monster that slowly rose from the depths of the Columbia River to wedge itself between sheer canyon walls where it would hunker from its great height to challenge the West's mightiest power source. Yes, there was the frenzy of the work, and the risk to human life, but there were also the nights and "B" Street, where liquor, drugs and women wiped out the hell of the days. Sometimes it was the women; sometimes the liquor and drugs. When it came to true romance, combining the trio was a matter of the old warning, three is a crowd. This is the story of those times and struggles, but mostly it is about A Man, A Woman and A Dream.
