A Coach's Guide to Asset Mapping Teacher Quality: the Journey from Compliance to Community

When a teacher retires an entire storehouse of knowledge is often lost. Now a retired educator has reproduced her storehouse of knowledge about teacher quality and classroom practices. The Journey begins at a place called Compliance and ends at a destination named Community. During three stops on the journey, eighteen principles in three core areas critical to teacher quality are examined. The workbook contains proven time-saving worksheets, templates, workshop ideas,one-on-one teacher support materials - all created by an experienced coach. Coaches are equipped to: Harness the beliefs, skills, strengths (assets) of ALL teachers. Integrate their experience, expertise, and wisdom into the tools and templates. Support new, marginal, or veteran teachers. Work to improve teacher longevity (reduce attrition). Use social media to tap into the insights, strategies, and solutions of coaches in other locations. Create their own pilot or inquiry-based project.
