Practical Magic 2 Susanne Bier Nordic edition

Almost 30 years after the original 1998 cult classic Practical Magic, Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman return as the two witch sisters Sally and Gillian Owens in the long-awaited sequel Practical Magic 2. This time, it is the Oscar-winning Danish director Susanne Bier, known for, among others, In a Better World, After the Wedding, and the TV series The Night Manager, who is behind the camera.

Throughout their lives, Sally and Gillian Owens have been shaped by their family's special magical abilities and the dark curse that has rested on the Owens women for generations. Now, the curse once again threatens to destroy the family, and the two sisters must return to their magical roots to protect those they love. At the same time, a new generation of Owens women steps forward, and the family's past proves to hold secrets that could have a decisive impact on their future.

Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman are joined by Joey King and Maisie Williams, who play Sally's daughters Kylie and Antonia, while Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing return as the eccentric aunts Jet and Franny. The cast also includes Lee Pace, Xolo Maridueña, and Solly McLeod.

The film is based on Alice Hoffman's 2021 novel The Book of Magic and continues the original's characteristic blend of romance, humor, family drama, and supernatural mysteries. Practical Magic 2 is thus both a nostalgic reunion with the beloved characters and a new chapter about sisterhood, love, and the magic that binds the generations together.
