Ten people at a wedding reception share trivial small talk; yet each has a private life unknown to the others-a netherworld of shameful lusts, awful deeds, private thoughts and past lives and at least one secret they would never share with any one, anywhere, at any time. In a series of stand-alone short stories, each unutterable secret is revealed: ... A young boy at the brink of puberty finds himself sexually attracted to a corpse.... A grieving father sits in his truck in a parking lot waiting for his daughter's killer to be released from prison. Tying together these horrific tales is the twisting life journey of the central character, Aino, who grows from a troubled teenager into a dynamic adult.
