Loustella Perry
Loustella Perry takes the reader through a time-lapse of a decline in mental health, the pressure to give up on dreams, and the resilience built to overcome it. Toast is a collection of poetry about real-life struggles and finding the strength to keep going. The entirety of Toast rhymes, which makes the quest through these extreme lows not as scary.
"I'm writing this book because I'm healing.
Gather around children, don't be shy.
Let me tell you a story,
of extreme lows and a progressive high.
Now I'm writing this book because I'm healing,
BEWARE of a few parts.
This book contains depression, grieving, a suicidal attempt,
and matters of the heart."
