As a domestic abuse survivor and recovering alcoholic, CiCi brings her unique perspective to this time-honoured medium. From Bleeding Out, which was written during a panic attack, to Behind My Eyes, a piece about sleep paralysis and the demons it brings, to Brains and Pancakes, a shorter poem about the numbing effect of anti-depressants, these poems aren't your typical inspiration pieces.
