A Mirror Moon
S J Richfield
The reflective and lyrical poetry contained in A Mirror Moon expresses sadness, grief and fear, but also reverence, exultation and gentle humour. The power of nature is contrasted with the fragility of human life and love, and underlying all the poems is faith in the possibility of resurrection and renewal. The philosophy behind the work is that when we are able to slow down or stop during the intense and ordinary moments of our lives, our understanding may be transformed by the quality of our attention and our memories enriched. The author's aim in these poems is to share her reflections so that her readers can empathise and relate to them in their own lives - the poetry offers both solace and a fresh perspective on ordinary human experience.
