"Elmore Leoard fans mourn no more, There's a new guy in town." New York Critic Mimi Barker. The characters that survived Sugarbird, a novel that ended with a shootout on the island of St John, emerged as very different people than the carefree, living on the fringe partiers they used to be. All but Joey. Men come to the islands for many reasons. The water, the women, the cheap booze. Maybe to dodge the tax man. Not Joey. With a bullet hole in his leg and two packs of ill gotten hundred dollar bills, Joey came to the island of St. Croix to hide out. And to rob a bank. Then he met a sweet island girl named Emily and discovered that easy money isn't always easy. Can love make a Tiger change it"s stripes? "Lining up for the best sellers list. " Kathleen. McCormick.
